ASHIATSU "BAREFOOT" THERAPEUTICS
SOLE -FUL CONNECTION. HEEL -ING RELIEF. TOE -TAL EFFECT.
Ashiatsu (Ashi - literally translates into "Foot" / Atsu - means "Pressure"),
also known as Barefoot Massage, uses a different type of technique to deliver
the desired pressure during treatment compared to traditional deep tissue massage therapies.

Ashiatsu is an ancient form of massage that delivers deep, broad, and consistent pressure. Deep tissue clients often ask for more pressure than a therapist is able to consistently provide. In an Ashiatsu therapy treatment, the practitioner is able to use their own body weight and feet to provide targeted stimuli to the tissue up to 3x the pressure of a regular manual deep tissue massage.

History of Ashiatsu
The history of Ashiatsu spans many continents, various cultures, and more than 3,000 years! Barefoot massage
styles have originated in India, Japan, China, the Philippines, Thailand, Fiji, and Hawaii. In the Eastern countries, the focus of Ashiatsu was to ignite energy (Qi) or Ayurvedic energies within the body. These early forms of Ashiatsu were not seen as massage at all and were viewed as an art of internal healing!
In Western societies, the focus of the Ashiatsu modality is to relieve tension within the muscles. This approach helps improve posture, relieve pain and stress, treat spinal issues, and provide an incredibly deep massage while still being gentle.
